I made this cabinet for clients in a beautiful little house in the north of Amsterdam. Everything there was higgledy-piggledy though, so i made it on the spot. Their bedroom now was my workshop. The house was renovated very neatly and their bedroom is almost completely white - in a 'not overdone way' - and in the middle of the room are beautiful old beams still there to support the roof.
This combination of crispy white and the roughness of the old wooden beams made me choose for this design. I bought secondhand old beams for the frame and structure and for the doors and planks I used MDF which I laquered crispy white. The knotted leather straps came later - an idea of a friend of mine.
